For more than 60 years, UCP Central PA (UCP) has been meeting the needs of individuals of all ages with all types of disabilities and special needs, from pediatric to geriatric. While our name—United Cerebral Palsy--would seem to suggest otherwise, our consumers come to us with a wide range of conditions and diagnoses. The reality is this: the vast majority of the people we serve have a condition other than cerebral palsy.
Our Typical Consumers
•Individuals of any age who were born with a disability
•Individuals of any age who acquire a disability through accident, illness, or injury
•Individuals who find themselves aging into disability
From July 2014 to June 2015, UCP provided services and programs for more than 3,500 children and adults. We’ve offered support to strengthen these families as well. Just as important, UCP offers hope… the hope of a life well-lived and without limits.
UCP currently provides both community and center-based programs and services in 15 Central Pennsylvania counties: Centre, Columbia, Cumberland, Dauphin, Juniata, Lancaster, Lebanon, Lycoming, Mifflin, Montour, Northern York, Northumberland, Perry, Snyder, and Union counties. UCP operates from 34 facilities: the Capital Area Children’s Center, 18 adult day programs in five counties, 12 community homes in six counties, an assisted living apartment program, and community support services (three locations in three counties).
