About Us

Our mission is to expand the capacity, reach, and impact of community organizations through effective volunteerism, thereby enriching the lives of Central New Jersey residents.

Through our highly-acclaimed BoardConnect program, we recruit talented professionals who are interested in nonprofit board service. This four-part training series ensures that emerging and seasoned leaders are fully equipped to support and grow organizations whose missions align with their personal passions.

In our SkillsConnect program, we join skilled volunteers and area nonprofits to partner on strategic, short-term projects designed to boost organizational capacity and sustainability. Professionals can find meaningful opportunities to build their skills, experience, and resume by contributing their talent in marketing, strategic planning, information technology, graphic design, and many other fields. Our tertiary program, LeadershipConnect, provides training, professional development, and support to nonprofits to help them effectively recruit, utilize, retain, and recognize volunteers. Nonprofit leaders are given a forum to connect with peers and learn best practices from top experts, on topics ranging from board development to succession planning.

VolunteerConnect's valued funding partners include the Princeton Area Community Foundation and the J. Seward Johnson 1963 Charitable Trust, as well as private donors and corporate foundation partners. Our partners help to ensure that VolunteerConnect will continue to build momentum in promoting pro bono service as a compelling means of creating both local and global social change.
