About Us

Walkabout Foundation is both a registered US and UK non-profit organization that focuses on funding research to find a cure for paralysis and donating wheelchairs to people in need around the world.

Founded in August 2008 by siblings Luis and Carolina Gonzalez-Bunster, Walkabout Foundation has funded groundbreaking paralysis and spinal cord injury research through the Christopher Reeve Foundation, and has donated over 5,000 wheelchairs to people with disabilities in Haiti, Dominican Republic, Rwanda, Kenya, Malawi, Sudan, Pakistan, and India to name a few.
